Heritage Putty Does Fine For Mumford & Wood

An installer using heritage sealant

Mumford & Wood’s wooden windows can be found on many historic buildings with the glass being kept in using Heritage Putty from Hodgson Sealants.

Hodgson's Heritage Putty is a modern hybrid polymer cartridge gunned product. It gives the appearance of a traditional putty line on single glass, insulating glass units and reduced sight line units into softwood, hardwood, steel, and stone frames. According to Hodgson this makes it suitable for the restoration and replacement of glazing in period properties, listed buildings and conservation areas.

“We use Hodgson’s Heritage Putty because of its modern performance combined with its heritage appearance. It tools well, it’s easy to use and it just works.”

Painted in hours

Hodgson says that the putty remains permanently elastic throughout its life with low residual tack and with minimum dirt pick up. It has excellent toolability and can be painted in a matter of hours with both water and solvent based products.  It can also be used for internal and external applications and is isocyanate, silicone and solvent free.
