Profile 22 performance coastal development
Over 100 Profile 22 windows and PatioMaster sliding doors were selected for Galwad Y Môr, a prestigious residential development in a prime north Wales coastal location.
Located in Penmaenmawr, Conwy, the development comprises nine three- and four-bedroom townhouses, two four and five-bedroom semi-detached homes and three affordable two-bedroom apartments. Designed to maximise panoramic views across the Conwy Estuary to Anglesey, the project demanded glazing solutions capable of delivering both exceptional aesthetics and reliable performance in an exposed coastal environment.
To meet the project’s specification main contractor Marshall CDP appointed approved commercial fabricator Heritage Trade Frames alongside specialist installer NR Windows. Heritage Trade Frames manufactured the Profile 22 PVC-U windows and PatioMaster sliding doors used throughout the development.
Performance credentials included air permeability to BS 6375 Part 1 Table 1 (600Pa severe rating), water tightness to BS EN 1027 (600Pa severe rating) and wind resistance to BS EN 12211 / BS 6375 Part 1 (2400Pa severe rating), giving the developer confidence in both compliance and durability. Corrosion-resistant austenitic stainless steel hinges were also specified.
