Successful Day At The Races

The National Fenestration Awards have taken place at Doncaster Racecourse. It was neck and neck in the independent voting but the winners ultimately got their noses in front to take the prizes – we report.

Hardware manufacturer, VBH, took members of its team from various departments. The company was successful in three categories. The greenteQ iQ security window Eespagnolette, which works with Kubu to link windows to smart home networks, was named as the Best Window Component of 2023.

The company also won the Digital Marketing Campaign category for its work in promoting the popular greenteQ Q-Smart fingerprint operated electronic door handle.

VBH’s Hayley Martin, was named as Social Networker of the Year. Hayley said: “I’m still in shock. I work with the best team that makes all this possible.”  

 

Kubu

Kubu (the designer and manufacturer of smart sensing technology for the fenestration industry) also won the Door Component of the Year category for its window and door smart sensors, sharing the prize with VBH and the GreenteQ iQ 'Works with Kubu' window lock.

This product is designed to be equipped with a Kubu sensor, either during the initial fabrication of the window or to be retrofitted with a sensor after the window has been installed.

 

Endurance Doors

Endurance Doors has a double win, being named Composite Door Manufacturer of the Year 2023; while The award for Young Person of the Year 2023 went to Imogen Payne, a digital marketing executive at the business.

Scott Foster, the sales & marketing director at Endurance Doors, said: “Imogen has made a significant contribution to our digital marketing efforts. Over the last 19 months she has helped to boost the online profile of the Endurance brand by taking a leading role in a range of activities including email marketing, social media marketing and search engine optimisation.”

 

Rehau

Rehau scored a hattrick of awards by becoming the Systems Company of the Year as well as scooping Best Use of Video (for a partnership film with Uxbridge based fabricator, Visio), while area sales manager, Hannah Smith, also walked away with Young Person of the Year.

Martin Hitchin, CEO of Rehau said: “Our industry is brimming with great talent, evidenced by the number of outstanding nominees present at the NFAs this year. The level of quality fenestration businesses are demonstrating right now has never been higher in my opinion. So, to walk away with Systems Company of the Year against some stiff competition is just the icing on the cake. I couldn’t be prouder.”

 

Sheerline

Sheerline’s Prestige lift & slide patio door was awarded the title of New Product of the Year and CEO Roger Hartshorn beat sixteen other contenders to be named MD/Director of the Year.

Hartshorn said: “We work to ensure our products are the best for homeowners, installers and fabricators. Being named Director of the Year is another great win for Sheerline and shows we still have more to give.”

 

Reynaers

Reynaers Aluminium UK won Aluminium Systems Company of the Year highlighting the company’s work in supplying premium aluminium systems for doors, windows and facades to the UK fenestration industry.

Over the past twelve months Reynaers has made significant strides in ensuring its customers receive the best service and product range. This has included a major expansion of its warehouse facilities to increase stock availability and reduce lead times; continually developing products to offer additional options such as motorisation and open corners, as well as continuing to provide top performance quality for air, wind, and water testing.

In addition, the company has implemented a strong sustainability strategy in Reynaers Act. It manufactures nine systems that are cradle-to-cradle certified and has developed products for the trade and retail sector that can achieve thermal efficiency ratings as low as 0.8W/mK² without compromising on slim sightlines.

 

Elumatec

Fabrication machinery specialist Elumatec took the Machinery Company of the Year accolade.

MD Neil Parton said: “I believe we’ve shown that we’re not just a supplier for the fabrication industry’s biggest operators. Our product range covers a vast range of needs and whatever the customer’s size, our commitment to them is complete.”
