Transformational Technology

In a move described as ‘transformational’, Epwin Window Systems installer Oswestry Windows and Doors has invested in the power of virtual reality technology to bring products to life in customers’ homes.

Owner Matthew Dunne-Smith says: “We have secured several large-scale domestic installations because it’s given our customers a completely new dimension for visualising their home improvements. VR technology is proving transformational for us.”

 

Walk around

Used in TV makeover programmes such as Your Home Made Perfect, the technology creates a virtual scene of the completed installation. Every detail, including furniture placement, is featured, giving consumers the opportunity to walk around and see exactly how it will look from the inside and exterior of the property.

To illustrate the difference it makes, one Oswestry Windows and Doors customer says: “We saw the drawings and they were amazing but putting the VR goggles on brought the whole project to life and just made us say ‘Yes, we want to go ahead right now.’”
