Visofold 1000 – A Remarkable Makeover
As part of a major upgrade to the Visofold 1000 slim bi-fold door, Smart has introduced several enhancements, including two new profile options, significantly improved U-values and new hardware and accessories.
The system is also now easier and quicker to fabricate and install.
Low threshold
While retaining the same overall dimensions and slim sight lines that are a feature of the Visofold 1000 design, two new rebated outer frames and a new integrated cill have been introduced, which complement the existing low threshold option.
Heritage
A heritage sash and additional transom options are also now available to complement Smart’s established range of heritage window and door systems.
Thermal efficiency
The new outer frame profiles incorporate a wider 30mm polyamide thermal break, which when fitted with a double-glazed unit with a centre pane of 1.2 (used with foam insulation), achieves a U-value of 1.4 and an A energy rating.
The upgrade also includes optional 70mm and 82mm hooded trickle vent sections, as well as a new track insert which is again designed to improve thermal efficiency.
Security
The system is approved to PAS 24:2022 subject to final product specification. As well as improvements to the frames and performance, Visofold 1000’s hardware and accessories range also features a number of significant enhancements, including PAS 24 approval for the door’s standard roller, the addition of a new, heavy duty shoot bolt handle and enhancements to the gearboxes.
The Visofold 1000 outer frame, sash and bead profiles all feature Smart’s co-extruded gaskets, including the company’s Quick Glaze Bead which makes fabrication and installation fast, straightforward, and efficient. Three optional adjustment features are also available, enabling the rollers, jamb and glazing all to be adjusted in situ and fine tuning to be carried out quickly and efficiently.

“By making the door easier and quicker to fabricate and install, while paying attention to every aspect of the door, from new profiles and cill options to heavy duty handles, we have taken one of our most successful doors and made it even better.”
