Thursday 21 April – Free Part L Webinar

Anyone who wants information on the effect of the June changes to Part L of the Building Regulations can sign up for a support webinar being hosted by Reynaers Aluminium UK – coming up on Thursday 21 April.

The 2-hour webinar takes place on Thursday at 10:00am.  Architects and specifiers are the main target but all are welcome. The webinar follows on from a successful series of roadshows by Reynaers held in Birmingham, Manchester and London, which covered what technical changes must be made to both new and replacement thermal elements, windows and doors to remain compliant.

Key dates:

  • 15 June 2022: Interim update to Part L (30% carbon reduction target).

  • June 2025: Full implementation (75% carbon reduction target).

During the webinar, Reynaers’ Director of technical services, John McComb, will explain the major impact of the new Part L regulations, as well as what the amendments to Part F and the introduction of Part O will have on the construction industry and its suppliers. He will also provide insights into how Reynaers has already begun to adapt products and services to remain compliant.

“The Future Homes Standard demands new buildings produce at least 75% less carbon emissions and the new updated regulations are interim measures to achieve this.”

Key questions

“We have been working for well over a year to ensure our products and systems meet or exceed these new standards,” continues Reynaers’ McComb. “This webinar provides an opportunity for us to answer some of the key questions our customers are raising.”

C&A Window Systems

Among the Part L roadshow attendees was Chris Archer, managing director at C&A Window Systems, who says the session helped to clear up a lot of confusion and armed him with answers for his customers: “Our service is predominantly the upper end of the residential market and the smaller end of the commercial market, so we’ve had to be on board with these changes. We wanted to find out what Reynaers were doing because we have manufactured for them for around two years.

“The confusion we’ve found from customers is around the U-value requirement and whether it would affect every window we make for them and if they all must comply. Or can the project be looked at overall, so we’ve been taking time to tell them on the back of this session what needs to happen and to also widen their knowledge.

“I would recommend anyone involved in manufacturing or specifying products to go along to the webinar.”
