Read Full ArticleThe Voilàp Group has bought the Stürtz Group out of administration. Stürtz is a manufacturer of automated machinery for PVC (especially windows) processing. Stuga UK is included in the deal.
Stürtz has its headquarters in the Germany with more than 350 employees. However, despite revenues of approximately €65 million and operates international subsidiaries in Canada, Poland and the United States along with the UK, it had gotten into financial difficulties and was forced to enter administration recently. Stuga UK was not included in the administration and continued to plough on unaffected.
Window machinery portfolio
With the acquisition, Voilàp says it aims to strengthen its position as a global leader in machinery for the window and façade industry, as well as a key player in other industrial applications. Voilàp holds a strong worldwide market position with its brands Elumatec, Emmegi and Tekna in the aluminium processing sector and Keraglass and Mappi in the glass processing sector.
“We see this transaction as an opportunity to build an increasingly comprehensive system of intelligent and connected machines for the factories of the future. With Stürtz, we acquire an exceptional competence in automated processes,” says Valter Caiumi, the chairman and CEO of the Voilàp Group. “Over the years, we have carried out numerous acquisitions, proving our ability to restructure complex companies, enhance their competitiveness and ensure long-term growth. This was the case, for example, with Elumatec, a German company we acquired ten years ago, which has since become the world market leader in its sector.”
What’s in the deal?
The acquisition includes the production plant, real estate entity, machinery, intellectual property, brands, software, workforce, order backlog, and inventories. At the same time, Voilàp will acquire the shares of the Stürtz’s international subsidiaries in Canada, Poland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. All of Stürtz’s 350+ jobs will be retained in order to safeguard the company’s valuable know-how. Stürtz will continue to operate as a brand and as an independent organisation.
