Andy Jones - Sliders' Boss Slips Away

Andy Jones has stepped down as Group Managing Director at Victorian Sliders, to 'pursue new opportunities' whilst citing a reluctance to relocate to Wales where the company is based.

However, Jones' departure does follow a period of rapid growth for the PVC-U sash window supplier, which has recently added over 50 new staff to cope with demand for its popular ECOSlide sash window.

“The nature of the role and location requires a regular 500 mile round-trip and so it is time for me to explore new challenges and opportunities.”

“Since my appointment in 2019, we have embarked on an investment strategy that has enabled us to scale the business rapidly and we have seen a real transformation during that time and we’re on track for 70% growth,” added Jones. "I leave the business in great shape and on a rapid growth trajectory.”

Unswerving in our commitment

Jones is a well-known figure in the window business having taken senior roles in some of the biggest suppliers in the industry. However, he has also left his posts in quick order most notably when Aperture bought the assets of Synseal out of administration (Aperture subsequently went into administration). At the time Jones, who was acting as Sales & Marketing Director said: "Customers and the entire supply chain can rest assured that Aperture’s management team are all unswerving in our commitment to the venture." He left within weeks to take up his role with Victorian Sliders.

Thanks for contribution

Victorian Sliders founder Scot Starkey, who is no stranger to wielding the axe when it comes to senior personnel, said: “Andy has brought a great deal of management expertise to the business and been instrumental in our recent growth. We would like to thank him for his contribution to our company and we wish him well as he pursues new opportunities.”

Victorian Sliders is a vertically integrated PVC-U sash manufacturer with in-house extrusion, glass processing, manufacturing and recycling, operating from a state-of-the-art 250,000sq.ft site in South Wales and with a number of major distribution hubs across the UK and Ireland.
