Kestrel Home Improvements says the Framepoint sales and quoting App helped the company embrace remote selling and GoldStar Windows has secured a £50,000 order for windows and doors with the system.

Kestrel HI is based in Kent, with three installation teams. It sells windows, doors and conservatories in PVC-U, aluminium and timber, as well as guttering and roofline. Previously, the company’s reps sold face-to-face, sketching ideas on paper with homeowners and using a well-known industry software system. The team switched to Framepoint because it provided more detail.

“It’s proved very successful. We sold 12 jobs over lockdown and 30 jobs immediately afterwards, all using Framepoint. Our order books have been full ever since - it paid for itself with the first job.”

Never fails to impress

“Homeowners are astonished and very impressed,” continues Kestrel HI's Ramsey. “The biggest problem when selling windows is helping customers visualise styles and what the windows will look like in situ – and this solves that problem easily. When a potential customer makes an enquiry we ask them to provide images of their home and we then ‘make over’ their property live online. It never fails to impress.

“There will always be customers who prefer face-to-face interaction, but we plan to continue with remote selling in the long-term. It’s gone so well, and many customers prefer it.”

The App also helped Shropshire installer GoldStar secure its £50,000 order when the company used the platform to present to a developer and buyer of two new build plots. The developer and buyer told GoldStar it was the best presentation he'd ever seen.

GoldStar Windows installs a wide range of PVC-U and aluminium windows as well as conservatories, orangeries, patio, French and bi-fold doors, with a showroom and head office in Ludlow. “I’d only started using the App a few weeks after lockdown eased, when the opportunity to pitch for the new build plot came up,” explains owner Noel Preece. “Framepoint was an immediate hit with homeowners - but we also service upmarket developers too and used the App to stand out from the competition. It makes the sales process so much more enjoyable: it’s so easy to click and change styles and colours, and you’re able to hone in on the detail. Glass options, cills, astragal bars, handles, different material options and finishes are all photo-realistic, with inside and outside views. It’s like nothing else on the market – and it’s paid for itself many, many times over!”

Prospect of further restrictions

Chris Brunsdon, CEO of Tommy Trinder, which developed the Framepoint App, says: “Many installers shut down completely in lockdown, yet with the prospect of further restrictions, using tools like Framepoint to keep building your pipeline can boot business when you need it most.

“If you sell a variety of products in different material options – and let’s face it, most installers do now - Framepoint really can transform your business.”
