ODL -- Strong Doors

ODL Europe is highlighting the structural strength of its ODL Capstone composite door slab, as increasing numbers of fabricators and installers look to eliminate the risk of bowing, twisting and distortion.

According to ODL, the Capstone slab has been developed to deliver consistent performance, helping customers avoid costly callbacks and protect their reputation.

Bryan Bultema, managing director at ODL Europe, says: “Doors are exposed to everything the British weather can throw at them. The challenge for fabricators and installers isn’t just how a door looks on day one, but how it performs months and years later. That’s where slab construction makes all the difference.

The ODL Capstone slab is designed to maintain its shape, even in high temperatures. It is the combination of materials, construction and consistent manufacturing standards that gives our customers complete confidence in the product.”

Manufactured at 44mm, the slab features impact-resistant GRP skins, a thermally-efficient core reinforced with LVL and an integrated ABS security panel. According to ODL, this construction delivers exceptional rigidity and stability, helping the door resist bowing, twisting and distortion over time.

The high-glass-content GRP skins are intended to provide additional strength and durability, while the reinforced core ensures reliable performance across varying temperatures and environmental conditions. ODL says the result is a composite door that performs consistently, reducing remedial work and supporting long-term customer satisfaction.

Bultema says: “Every avoided callback protects our customers’ margins as well as their reputation. That’s why we focus so heavily on the fundamentals of slab construction. When the slab performs as it should, it gives complete confidence.”
