Timeless Elegance Meets Modern Design

Warsaw hotel building

A newly designed hotel in the Polish capital is making its mark with architecture that combines the Art Deco style of the 1920s with the modern era.

The Nobu Hotel Warsaw was Established by Oscar prize winner Robert De Niro, the Japanese chef Nobu Matsuhisa and the entrepreneur Meir Teper. The 5-star hotel, with 117 rooms and suites, stands in Warsaw’s cultural Mokotów district. Construction work on the 100 million PLN (21,8 million Euros) project began in 2017 and the hotel opened its doors to guests from around the world on 3 August 2020.

Nobu currently has 40 restaurants worldwide which combine characteristic Japanese dishes with – depending on the location – local culinary delicacies. Following the success of the restaurant chain, the founders of the Nobu brand decided to create luxurious hotels that combine excellent cuisine and a stay in an extraordinary ambience. The Nobu brand is also particularly well-known for the architecture of its buildings, each of which is different and creates an individual reference to the hotel's location.

The twelfth hotel in Warsaw is a trapezoidal glass structure with offset floors. The new building’s façade is made of crushed glass which offers the clientele, privacy without having to forego the view of the Warsaw skyline.

Abundant daylight with high energy efficiency

Large glazed areas in the interior ensure lots of daylight. The triple glazing from the company Vitroterm-Murów was manufactured with Swisspacer, warm edge spacer bars. The spacer bars consist of a highly insulating plastic composite material which minimises the loss of heat. They therefore prevent cold bridges and heat loss in the area around the edge of the panes of insulating glass – this prevents heat entering the building’s interior in summer and keeps the cold out in winter. Condensation, mould and the health problems these cause don’t stand a chance. Although at first glance they represent a barely perceptible detail in the overall planning, the spacer bars are essential for saving energy as well as for pleasant temperatures inside the Nobu Hotel in Warsaw.
