Gray’s – An Anatomy Of A Partnership

Working closely with merchants, independent suppliers and installers is vital to Freefoam and the company has continued to prove that through its ongoing relationship with Huws Gray.

Huws Gray is reckoned to be the UK’s largest independent builders’ merchants supplying building materials to both trade and DIY customers. The company has grown significantlyover the past five years and has recently acquired the Buildbase business, more than doubling Huws Gray’s branch network.

“Freefoam offer the complete package in terms of what we need for a roofline partner. The key to our business is having a strong stock range in the branches – so we try and stock a broad range of Freefoam products.”

“Colour sales makes up a significant part of our roofline business now,” adds Jones. “Whenever we put new products into a branch, there’s always a representative from Freefoam there to do staff training and help merchandise the products.”

Jones continues: “We’ve recently brought in Freefoam’s Fortex range of cladding products. We see cladding as a real boom sector for us, sales are really strong and we felt that having it in a PVC option would really add to our range. Customers say it is easy to work with; light and quick to work with.”

Colin St John, commercial director at Freefoam, says: “We support our customers, their growth is our growth and building strong and lasting relationships with our customers, like Huws Gray, is crucial to our business.”
