Perry Points Finger In Fire Door Fix Scandal

A door lock and key

One supplier with a range of fire door locks, latches and hinges has spoken out in the wake of findings that 60% of fire door maintenance, replacement and inspection programmes were delayed in the first half of 2020.

Ironmongerer, A Perry was referring to the findings of a Fire Door Safety Week survey which showed 53% of local authorities cited Covid-19 as a reason for the delays.

“Whilst the pandemic has forced a number of issues out of the spotlight, with more people working from home, fire doors play an even more crucial life-saving role at the moment and more attention must be brought to this issue.”

– Steve Perry

Spokesperson, A Perry
